Walter Blumenthal was born in Bonn Germany. After his legal examinations he joined the Company AEG-Telefunken in 1972. At the age of 31 he was promoted as the youngest executive. He worked until end of 1982 for that Company in different positions at last as head of the legal department and administration of subsidiaries department of the complete consumer division. The sales of that division were in 1980 5 Billion DM. In 1982 he was appointed Vice-President (Prokurist) of AEG-Telefunken Hausgeräte AG. During this time he has been involved in all kinds of business and corporate law incl. restructurings, purchase and sale of companies, mergers etc. In 1983 he started his own law office. He has worked as attorney (Rechtsanwalt) since 1974.

Since then he continued to work as lawyer for many companies especially as a corporate lawyer. In 1990 the ministry of justice of the state of Hessen appointed him as notary. His special field is the complete range of business, labour corporate and real estate law. Further on he is actually non-executive chairman of several public companies in Germany.

Walter Blumenthal speaks and negotiates in English and French. He also speaks and understands Dutch. He is married with a Belgian and has two sons.
